The intensive summer session is designed with veterans in mind. The program takes place over six weeks, usually from early July through mid-August, and includes:

- 2 core academic courses (6 credits total): Statistics & Data Analysis, Accounting
- Career development and leadership activities
- Corporate visits
- Alumni engagement & networking sessions
- Social activities

The summer programming gives students an opportunity to get an early start on classes, explore different career paths, and engage with the military community at Stern. At the end of the term, Fertitta students join their incoming Full-time MBA classmates for mandatory LAUNCH Orientation to begin the fall semester.

## Fertitta Veterans MBA Scholarship

The Fertitta Veterans Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that reduces tuition to $30,000 per academic year. Active-duty and veteran students who are admitted to Stern are eligible to be considered for the Fertitta Veterans Scholarship, regardless of participation in the Summer Program. Please note that not all military veterans and active-duty students who are admitted into Stern will be awarded the Fertitta Scholarship.

Students who are not awarded the Fertitta Scholarship can still participate in the summer program. Students awarded a scholarship can still use Yellow Ribbon.

## Yellow Ribbon

NYU Stern is pleased to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. This program is available to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who are 100% eligible for the Chapter 33 Post 9/11 benefit, and Stern will contribute awards of up to $34,500 per academic year to each eligible MBA student. The Veterans Administration will match these funds for a total award of up to $69,000 per year per student. Please visit the [Department of Veterans Affairs](https://benefits.va.gov/gibill/) website for additional information on eligibility.

## Fertitta Living Stipend

NYU Stern will provide a living stipend in the amount of $20,000 per academic year, subject to tax, to Two-Year Full-time MBA students who are using Chapter 33/Yellow Ribbon or other Veterans benefits to fund their education and are not already receiving a merit-based scholarship.

### Hyden Bruce, MBA 2027

"My first conversation with a MBA2 member of the Military Veterans Club was the moment I knew Stern was the school for me. I was deployed, had just decided to finish up my military career to pursue an MBA, and was apprehensive about the road ahead. I spoke with a student who had been in my shoes and could empathize with my situation, and he was extremely encouraging and shared advice from his own MBA experience."
