4+1 International Partner Schools

NYU Stern has developed a unique 4+1 program agreement with partner universities.

Currently, NYU Stern has partnerships with the following four universities:
  • NYU Abu Dhabi
  • NYU Shanghai
  • University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy
  • SolBridge International School of Business, Korea
Students participating in this program are expected to intern with a professional accounting firm, preferably a Big 4 firm, in their junior and senior years and hopefully secure a full time position offer upon graduating from one of these universities. They would then seek a one year deferment to complete the MSA program at Stern before starting a full time position with the firm.

As these programs are all taught in English, applicants from these universities will not be required to take the TOEFL/IELTS.

In addition, applicants from one of the four 4+1 partner schools will have the GMAT/GRE test requirement waived regardless of their GPA.

Applicants as part of the NYU Stern partner school 4+1 programs will be given favorable consideration in the admissions process. In addition to being considered for the $10,000 MSA merit based scholarship, 4+1 applicants will also be considered for a special $5,000 4+1 merit based scholarship. Applicants may be awarded either of the two scholarships, but will not be awarded both.

Applicants who are applying from one of our four 4+1 program partner schools (NYU Abu Dhabi; NYU Shanghai; University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy; and SolBridge International School of Business, Korea) are eligible for application fee waivers. Just prior to submitting your application, email your request for an application fee waiver to msaccounting@stern.nyu.edu and include a scanned copy of your transcripts.

As always, applicants must also meet the pre-requirements prior to enrollment.

If you are applying via one of our 4+1 Programs, please indicate "I have been approved by the Admissions Committee to waive my GMAT/GRE test requirement" in the Standardized Tests section of the application, as well as note this in your optional essay. No other steps are required in the application process.
