Undergraduates also enjoy opportunities like the Social Impact Business Challenge (SIBC), a competition where students develop businesses plans for a chance at up to $20,000 in seed money to start a socially conscious organization or initiative.

The Social Impact Core became a part of the undergraduate curriculum in 2004. Over the last decade, additional courses, including social impact consulting practica, and new initiatives, including Social Impact stipends, have proliferated and generated a dedicated following of students, faculty and alumni. Recently, a group of students organized a networking event in Tisch Hall for current Stern undergraduates, faculty, and alumni to celebrate the power of “doing good.” Over 70 alumni from a variety of different industries were in attendance.

The event was organized by the Social Impact Council, a group of undergraduate students dedicated to hosting programs and raising awareness about Stern’s Social Impact offerings.
