MBA Students Take May/June 2019 "Doing Business in…" Courses

In May, three groups of MBA students traveled to China, Germany and Italy for a series of NYU Stern “Doing Business in (DBi)” courses.
Students who participated in DBi China attended lectures on capital markets, disruptive innovation and fintech development in the region. The group also met with corporate representatives from IFLYTEK Co., Baifendian and Ctrip and enjoyed sightseeing stops at Tiananmen Square and the Great Wall. DBi Germany, centered in Berlin, gave students the opportunity to learn about the German economic system and its role in the European Union as well as a look at the history of German startup culture. Additionally, the group made a pair of corporate visits to Mister Spex and Porsche and participated in a guided tour of the German Bundestag. DBi Italy, based in Milan, featured lectures on the evolution of Italian luxury brands, including the effect of digital transformation on the industry, followed by company visits to the Mantero Silk Factory in Como and stops at Dolce & Gabbana and Vitale Barberis Canonico.
