MBA Students Take January 2020 "Doing Business in… " Courses

In January, seven groups of MBA students from NYU Stern traveled around the world for “Doing Business In… (DBi)” courses.

- Visited the headquarters of the leading airline Qantas
- Attended classroom lectures focused on leadership, financial markets and indigenous businesses in the region
- Explored agricultural supply chains and studied sustainable development
- Toured a coffee cooperative and wildlife sanctuary and learned about the critical role that tourism plays in Costa Rica’s economy
- Discussed social issues and learned about operations management at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
- Visited the Po Lin Monastery and met with representatives of Cathay Pacific and MTR, Hong Kong’s public transportation network
- Focused on Israel’s vibrant entrepreneurial community and high-tech industries
- Met with experts in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and personalized healthcare
- Enjoyed a cultural visit to Nazareth and city tours of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv
- Toured Grupo Modelo, one of Mexico’s largest beer makers
- Visited KidZania, a company with 28 vibrant play spaces around the world
- Discussed cases built around businesses in the region
- Discussed investment opportunities in the region and completed a case study on bringing Krispy Kreme to the country
- Took part in a sightseeing tour of Auckland and enjoyed a wine tasting and gelato sampling while learning about some of the country’s key sectors
- Visited Umoya Wind Farm and journeyed to Robben Island, where former South African President Nelson Mandela spent much of his imprisonment
- Focused on forging ties between communities and businesses
