Timing
Specific dates for each course are listed in the course syllabi. DBi courses are offered during the following time periods:

January: before the start of the Spring semester
March: during Spring break
May: immediately following Spring semester final exams Specific dates for each course are listed in the course syllabus.

Travel
Airfare and travel arrangements to and from the host university destination are the responsibility and expense of the participant, and they are not part of the DBi program fee. Program arrival and departure dates are included in each course syllabus. Students are free to travel independently before or after each course. Students must attend all course sessions, including lectures, speaker sessions, and visits. Failure to do so will result in a failing grade.

Lodging
Lodging for the duration of the program is included in the DBi program fee. See the course syllabus for details. For programs featuring double occupancy, roommates assignments are required to be of the same sex unless they are married or have official civil union partner documentation. Final roommate assignments are completed after the Pre-Departure meeting.

Incidental Expenses
All expenses not listed as included in the DBi program listed in the course syllabus are the responsibility and expense of the student. Incidental expenses could include and are not limited to some meals, non-group transportation, visa fees, airport fees, entertainment, and personal expenses.

Visas
If the country or countries in which the course is being held requires a visa for entry, it is each student’s responsibility to secure and pay for the appropriate visa(s). Additional information on visas will be posted on Blackboard.

International Students
International students must contact OGS regarding their travel plans and must attend an OGS "Travel Workshop". Please visit the OGS website for additional travel details.

Forms
Participating students must complete all required forms in order to participate. Forms will be posted on Blackboard for each class after registration is completed.

Financial Aid
If you anticipate needing extra funds to cover the costs of the DBi program, you must follow the financial aid procedures and meet all financial aid deadlines.

FAFSA: You should file your “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA). If you have not already done so, you should file your FAFSA immediately. For more information on financial aid, please visit the MBA Financial Aid website.
Award Letter: Award notifications (via email) detailing your eligibility for financial aid are sent on a rolling basis beginning in June. Please review the information carefully as it will give you details on how to proceed to secure loan funds.
Increase Student Budget: If you would like to have your student budget increased to reflect your airfare and/or DBi program fee, you need to submit a Budget Appeal Form with a copy of your airline ticket or a written estimate from a travel agent to MBA Financial Aid, after submitting the program fee for the course. You should be aware that financial aid funds will not be available until September.
Loan Checks: Until the Bursar receives the actual loan funds, (1) the balance on your account is not paid and (2) you will not receive a refund. Your lender will send your loan funds electronically to the Stern Bursar. Upon receipt of the loan funds, the Stern Bursar will apply the funds to your account balance and issue you a refund check or make a direct deposit.
