Nathan Sheets

The NYU Stern Center for Global Economy and Business hosted a public talk with Nathan Sheets, former US Treasury Department’s Under Secretary for International Affairs, on the "Implications of President Trump's Policies for the Global Economy." Professor Kim Schoenholtz moderated the discussion, followed by a Q&A with faculty and students.

Sheets presented an overview of the global economy and offered thoughts on the current Administration’s international economic policies. He outlined a list of his concerns and emphasized, “if we don’t lead, other countries are going to.” Sheets also discussed three possible outcomes for fiscal policy, which included scenarios involving “tax reform”, “fiscal stimulus” and “gridlock.”
