About Joshua Walker

Joshua Walker is the Chief Financial & Strategy Officer for Warner Bros. Discovery’s Streaming business unit, which operates HBO and the company’s global portfolio of streaming services, including discovery+, Max, HBO GO and HBO Max. In this role, Josh oversees development and execution of Warner Bros. Discovery’s direct-to-consumer global strategic plans and leads the business unit’s finance teams, including content finance, FP&A and operational finance.

Josh was previously Chief Strategy Officer & Executive Vice President of Data Insights for HBO Max, overseeing direct-to-consumer strategy, research and data & artificial intelligence. Prior to the merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc., Josh served as Chief Strategy Officer & Executive Vice President of Financial Planning for WarnerMedia Entertainment. In that role, Josh oversaw strategic and financial planning for the former WarnerMedia business unit, which included HBO, Cinemax, TNT, tbs, truTV, HBO Max and Otter Media. Prior to that role, Josh served as Senior Vice President, Distribution Business Affairs for HBO, Inc. At HBO, Josh structured and negotiated content distribution deals and strategic new media partnerships with media companies that include Comcast, Google, Amazon, DIRECTV, Microsoft, Verizon, Apple, Hulu and AT&T. These deals covered distribution of the HBO and Cinemax linear television channels as well as HBO GO, MAX GO and HBO’s initial direct-to-consumer product, HBO NOW.

Prior to joining HBO in 2010, Josh practiced law at the firms Chadbourne & Parke LLP and Davis & Gilbert LLP in New York City, focusing his practice on M&A, financing deals, corporate law and media work.

Josh earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Stern School of Business in 2015, a Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School in 2002 and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Political Science as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University at Buffalo in 1999.
