New enhancements to the XanEdu Folio-X platform.

XanEdu Android app was released in January and version 2.6 of the XanEdu iPad app is now available. We recommend that students update to this version. Watch the new App video for a full feature review of the XanEdu Apps. Review full set of download instructions below.

The following outlines important information to help ensure seamless use and transition to the iPad and Android Apps.

DRM Updates

DRM has been implemented for all packs that are currently adopted and all packs that will be adopted going forward.

The DRM requirements are as follows:

Important Note: To ensure a smooth experience when downloading DRM protected content please follow the appropriate steps outlined at www.xanedu.com/drm

1. Students will be able to download all content. Downloaded content will never expire; however, access to download content expires after 6 months or 30 days after the last day of class (as specified by the instructor).
2. No Plug-ins required
3. Emailing files will be restricted to notes. Emailing protected content from any device is prohibited4.
4. Device download maximum (3x)
5. Printing maximum (2x)

Instructions for XanEdu Tablet Apps access

• Make sure that the XanEdu tablet app is loaded onto your tablet. If not, download from the App Store or the Android Market.
• Open the App. Tap on the Download button in the upper left corner.
• Login using your MyXanEdu username and password. Go to www.xanedu.com and register for one if needed.
• After you have redeemed your key through the website (or for Android users directly in the app), a screen will appear with a list of XanEdu titles that are available in Folio-X format for use on your tablet.
• Select a title and tap Download.
• The title will appear in the Library on the bookshelf.
 

Instructions for Laptop or Desktop access

1. Go to www.xanedu.com and create an account if you do not have one.
2. Enter the 16-digit key code from the bookstore in the space provided.
3. Ensure Adobe Acrobat Reader is on your device. For help: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
4. Click on the name of the course in the "My CoursePacks” list
5. Click on "Download Entire CoursePack" (PDF).
6. Click on the Disk Icon on the top left of the page to save the file.
7. Adjust your Adobe Reader settings by following the instructions at www2.xanedu.com/DRMXanEdu.

Instructions for XanEdu Tablet Apps access

1. Make sure that the XanEdu tablet app is installed on your tablet. If not, download from the App Store or the Android Market.
2. Log into your institution's password protected LMS from the tablet.
3. Find the appropriate XanEdu course material link within the password protected LMS.
4. If you have not already redeemed your 16-digit key code from the bookstore, redeem it now.
5. You will then be taken to a table of contents.
6. For iPad users, Click on the “Get Started on the iPad” button; for Android users, click “Get Started on the Android tablet” button, then tap “Download CoursePack for Android."
7. The CoursePack will automatically download to your bookshelf.

 

Instructions for Laptop or Desktop access

1. Log into your institution’s password protected LMS.
2. Locate and click on a link to the XanEdu materials. The first time you click, you will be prompted to enter the 16-digit key code from the bookstore.Subsequently, you will be taken to the table of contents for the XanEdu title.
3. Ensure Adobe Acrobat Reader is on your device. For help: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
4. Click on the name of the item you want.
5. Click on "Download Entire CoursePack" (PDF).
6. Click on the Disk Icon on the top left of the page and choose “Save As.”
7. Adjust your Adobe Reader settings by following the instructions at www2.xanedu.com/DRM
