CFDA MASTERS WORKSHOP

Set the trend

New York City is the global capital of fashion. Its economic impact to New York City is significant, employing 173,000 people and generating nearly $10 billion in wages. In addition, the semi-annual Fashion Week, which includes more than 500 fashion shows and attracts approximately 232,000 attendees each year, generates an economic impact of almost $900 million annually.

Through the CFDA Masters Workshop, MBA students have the opportunity to work with live and growing businesses within New York City's fashion industry. Stern students are paired with designers to work on a variety of projects including but not limited to: financial analysis, product market strategies, investor-ready business plans, and expansion strategies.

The companies involved represent America’s foremost talent in the fashion industry and the people participating are not only designers and creative innovators in their field, they are also entrepreneurs who face daily business challenges and have a vision for the growth of their company. By partnering with Stern MBA students -- some of New York’s top emerging business leaders -- these designers receive the support and guidance they need to take their businesses to the next level. The CFDA has also handpicked a group of Industry Advisors who assisted our students and the companies throughout the program. The advisors all have impressive and diverse backgrounds and are committed to helping our students learn the business of fashion.
