Industry Immersions

Leverage NYC as your starting point to a new career

NYC Final

Our Industry Immersion programs offer industry specific educational programming for career switchers in their first semester of their MBA program.  These opportunities allow students to learn specific industry knowledge from highly engaged alums at sponsoring organizations while also building a crucial industry skillset. Whether students are going into investment banking, consulting, media and entertainment, or tech entrepreneurship, these programs are designed to prepare students for a successful career transition.

Investment Banking Immersion (IBI)

The IBI program features four intensive sessions with the IBI alumni mentors at Citi’s office in downtown Tribeca. As a participant, students will hear from various alumni mentors within the bank, participate in an IPO pitch exercise designed to help hone valuation skills, and benefit from interview and recruiting preparation and tips.  Finally there will be ample opportunities for students to ask questions in a safe and open forum. This program is provided in partnership with Stern's Graduate Finance Association (GFA)

Entertainment & Media Immersion (EMI)

This EMI program runs over 5 weeks with dedicated alumni from Warner Media. The program structure includes a mixture of industry workshops, alumni mentorship sessions as well as a key challenge question. The challenge question allows students to break out into teams and explore a macro level issue that the industry is facing. The program culminates with teams presenting to various executives from Time Warner, faculty and staff.  This program is provided in partnership with Stern's Entertainment, Media & Technology Association (EMTA).

Luxury & Retail Immersion (LRI)

The LRI program runs over 5 weeks with a mixture of alumni career panels, student-alumni networking events, a faculty-led case competition as well as a NYC industry trek. This program prepares students to reflect on how their previous skills will be transferable to this new industry as well as gets students comfortable with the necessary networking portion of this transition. The program is provided in partnership with Stern's Luxury & Retail Club (LARC).
