Climate Risk Management for Business Leaders
The physical manifestations of climate change such as wildfires and rising sea levels can have substantial effects on firms’ operations and overall economic activity. Similarly, regulatory responses to limit carbon emissions create both risks to carbon-intensive business models and opportunities for firms supporting the transition to a low-carbon world. As a result, investors, regulators, employees, and customers are increasingly requiring firms to understand, disclose, and manage the various risks from climate change.

This 2-day course provides participants with an introduction to the various types of climate risks as well as approaches to managing these risks. We will review the science behind climate change and discuss how physical and transition climate risks can be measured and managed across both financial and non-financial businesses. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how climate change will affect their organizations, and how to minimize the risks and maximize the opportunities from a transition to a low-carbon economy.
