The Effects of Power

Power--having it, lacking it, wanting it, losing it--has profound effects on the work place. Anything from a quarterly loss to a major disaster may be traced back to the psychological effects of power, and how it can strongly affect cognition, perception, and behavior in systematic ways. Professor Elizabeth Morrison explains some of these effects and encourages both bosses and employees to examine their own roles and relationships with the awareness that power is a potent force.
