Google Faculty Research Award Granted to Professor Xi Chen for Work on Social Networks

Xi Chen, assistant professor of Information, Operations and Management Sciences, recently received a Google Faculty Research Award to support his research on social networks. The Google Faculty Research Award program is a biannual recognition of ongoing research in computer science and related topics, including systems, machine perception, structured data, robotics and mobile. This round, Google received 808 proposals, an increase of 12% over last round, and is funding 122 projects.

Professor Chen will liaise with Peng Dai, Google research software engineer, as his research develops.
