MISSION: APPOSSIBLE Kick-off Draws Growing Community of Mobile App Developers at NYU

Mission Appossible
More than 150 students, alumni, faculty and staff gathered at NYU Sternon February 3 for the kickoff of the First Annual MISSION: APPOSSIBLE Mobile App Contest. A collaborative effort between Stern's W.R. Berkley Innovation Lab (iLab) and Messapps, a New York-based design and development studio, the event began with an overview of the new contest and continued with a workshop on mobile app business principles and best practices. Designed for techies and non-techies alike, MISSION: APPOSSIBLE provides entrepreneurs in the NYU community with the tools and know-how needed to launch a successful mobile app – without any coding experience required.

Over the course of this three-month contest, the iLab and Messapps will offer current hands-on workshops, coaching sessions and crucial technical assistance for NYU students, faculty and staff – as well as NYU Stern alumni – seeking to create the world’s next great mobile app. Teams of up to six people will build wireframes, prepare a marketing plan and submit a comprehensive design template for their app concept. MISSION: APPOSSIBLE will culminate with a final Pitch Day on May 2. Winners will be announced during the $200K Entrepreneurs Challenge Final Pitch-off and Awards Ceremony on May 6.
