NYU Stern Andre Koo Technology & Entrepreneurship MBAs Immersed in the West Coast Tech Ecosystem

This January, Class of 2024 students in NYU Stern’s one-year Andre Koo Technology & Entrepreneurship MBA Program traveled to Silicon Valley, Seattle, and Los Angeles as part of an intensive three-credit course designed to immerse students in the West Coast tech ecosystem. Over two weeks, students gained first-hand insights into what drives innovation in these unique tech hubs through course lectures, corporate engagements with industry leaders – many of whom are Stern alumni – and alumni networking events in each city.

The immersion, a required experiential learning course for all Andre Koo Tech MBA students, was led by Professors Vasant Dhar and Melissa Schilling, with additional insights provided by the Program’s Academic Director, Professor J.P. Eggers, Vice Dean for MBA and Graduate Programs.

Students had the opportunity to visit the corporate campuses of a wide range of companies, including Airbnb, Amazon, DIRECTV, Disney Streaming/Hulu, Microsoft, NFL Media, NVIDIA, Palantir, Riot Games, Saildrone, Salesforce, T-Mobile, Upside Foods, 500 Global and more.

While onsite, students also met with Stern Executive Board member and Stern Tech Advisory Board Member David Ko (BS '93), CEO and Board Member at Calm; Stern Tech Advisory Board Member Jeff Teper (BS ’86), President, Microsoft 365 Collaborative Apps and Platforms, as well as many other industry alumni.
