A Spotlight on Entrepreneurship in Turkey

NYU faculty, industry practitioners and NYU Stern students convened for the launch event of the Hamdi Ulukaya Initiative (HUG in Turkish), a program aimed at discovering and supporting young entrepreneurs and startups in Turkey. The event included a panel discussion on “Sparking the Entrepreneurship Potential of Turkey,” followed by a Q&A session with Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder and CEO of Chobani. Panel participants included Gül Bahtiyar, professor, NYU School of Medicine; Murat Emirdağ, founder, M-Factory Ventures; Can Erbil, professor, Boston College; and Tülin Erdem, Leonard N. Stern Professor of Business, professor of marketing and chair of the Marketing Department at NYU Stern. The panel was moderated by Cüneyt Özdemir, executive producer and news anchor of CNN Türk. NYU Steinhardt Professor Selçuk R. Şirin moderated the Q&A with Ulukaya on the power of business in transforming societies in a positive way.
