Biography

Gustavo Vulcano is Associate Professor of Information, Operations, & Management Science at New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He teaches Operations Management for undergraduate and MBA students, and several Ph.D. courses.

Professor Vulcano joined NYU Stern in 2002. His primary research includes revenue management, retail operations, supply chain management, and applications of optimization techniques to solve large scale network problems. He has been published in leading journals including Management Science, Operations Research, and Manufacturing and Service Operations Management.

Professor Vulcano received his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, New York.

Research Interests

  • Computational methods for solving large scale network revenue management problems
  • Pricing and inventory decisions accounting for behavioral considerations on the consumer side
  • Collaboration and competition in global networks, with focus on airline alliances
