About Venkat Srivatsan

Professor Srivatsan is an Adjunct Professor of Economics at the Stern School of Business. He has been an adjunct Professor at the Columbia Business School as well, where he has taught a variety of courses, including ones on "Executive Leadership" in the Executive MBA program. He is currently working on a project to compile a number of case studies of how social entrepreneurship can and has promoted economic development in rural India.

With a PhD in International Business Strategy from Columbia University (1992) and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from IIT, Chennai, India as foundation, he has wide-ranging knowledge and interests in the natural and social sciences. With work experience that includes working in a large oil multinational as well as a small electronics start-up in India, he has developed the understanding and skills required for dealing with both complex managerial as well as entrepreneurial situations.
