Please carefully review all of our Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) Admissions policies prior to submitting your application.

Admissions Process Policies

Applying Prior to Completing your Undergraduate Degree
If you submit your application prior to the conferral of your bachelor's degree or equivalent, we will accept and evaluate your application. This will not delay the evaluation of your application. If an offer of admission is made, it will be contingent upon the conferral of your degree prior to enrollment. An undergraduate degree is required to enroll in the Advanced Professional Certificate program. Keep in mind that two years of full-time work experience are required to apply to the APC program.

Application Fee Waivers
U.S. military members or U.S. veterans who have served active duty and Teach for America and Teach for India program alumni are eligible for application fee waivers. Just prior to submitting your application, email your request for an application fee waiver to admchair@stern.nyu.edu and include documentation of service.

If you are experiencing severe economic hardship and would like to request an application fee waiver, please email admchair@stern.nyu.edu. Requests should include a detailed rationale for the application fee waiver and will be considered by the Admissions Committee on a case-by-case basis.

Once an application fee is paid by an applicant, it is non-refundable. Please be sure to contact admchair@stern.nyu.edu prior to paying your application fee.

Change of Contact Information
The Admissions Committee communicates with applicants primarily through email. It is the applicant’s responsibility to update NYU Stern immediately with a new email address. Changes to your email should be made on the application status page. Failure to update your email may result in you missing key information, which could jeopardize your admission and/or place in the class.

NYU Stern is not responsible for any technological issues (including email filters, etc.) that prevent applicants from receiving our communications.

Re-Application and Applying to Multiple Programs within the Same Admissions Cycle
Re-applicants must submit a complete, new application to the program of their choice.

Applicants may only have one active application within the 2019-20 admissions cycle (entering Spring, Summer and Fall terms for 2020). If you are not offered admission or withdraw your application during this 2019-20 cycle, you may request to re-apply in this 2019-20 cycle for the same program with a different start date or you may request to apply to a different program. Requests must be sent to admchair@stern.nyu.edu and your request must be approved before you begin your new application.
Please note the start terms for each program below:

Advanced Professional Certificate - Spring 2020 and Fall 2020
Full-time MBA - Fall 2020
Langone Part-time MBA - Spring 2020 and Fall 2020
Fashion & Luxury MBA - Summer 2020
Andre Koo Tech MBA - Summer 2020

Submitting a Paper Application
Approval is required to submit a paper application. If you are unable to apply online, please send an email to admchair@stern.nyu.edu to explain the circumstances and request approval.

Submitting a Paper Recommendation
Approval is required for your recommender to submit a paper recommendation. If your recommender is unable to submit a recommendation electronically, please send an email to admchair@stern.nyu.edu to explain the circumstances and request approval.

Visa Eligibility
The NYU Stern Advanced Professional Certificate program is considered part-time study. Part-time study does not provide student visa eligibility. Applicants are responsible for determining whether they have the necessary visa status to apply and participate in the duration of the program. Without an appropriate visa status, applications to the program may be considered ineligible for review by the Admissions Committee.

Additional Submissions by Waitlisted Applicants
The Admissions Committee reserves the right to make final decisions on waitlisted applications prior to receiving additional information. Materials received after a final decision will not affect that decision.

Enrollment Deposit
After admission, a non-refundable enrollment deposit is required to secure your place in NYU Stern's Advanced Professional Certificate program. This enrollment deposit will not be refunded for any reason.

Deferred Admission
NYU Stern does not grant admission deferrals. If you are admitted and decide not to enroll, you may re-apply for a future term.

Transferring from Advanced Professional Certificate to Langone Part-time MBA
APC students may apply to the Langone Part-time MBA program after completing at least one APC course and before completing the entire APC program. In order to be considered for the Langone Part-time MBA program, all APC students, including those who already hold an MBA, must complete all application requirements and have a valid GMAT, GRE, or Executive Assessment score upon applying. If admitted, students may use APC credits toward the 60-credit Langone Part-time MBA. Please note that after an APC is earned, graduates cannot use APC credits toward the MBA.

Given the block/cohort structure of the Full-time and Executive MBA programs, it is not possible to use APC credits toward these programs.

If you are an eligible APC student and interested in applying, please contact admchair@stern.nyu.edu for the abbreviated application.

Statement of Certification
Before submitting an application, all applicants are required to read and electronically sign the Statement of Certification. NYU Stern reserves the right to contact appropriate sources to ensure the accuracy of all the information you have provided. You must promptly inform NYU Stern if any information changes.

NYU Stern may revoke your admission if we learn that you have misrepresented and/or omitted information during or after the admissions process, or that you have engaged in behavior showing a serious lack of judgment or integrity prior to or after admission. If your admission is revoked, you will not be eligible to re-apply to any NYU Stern program.

Any items submitted to NYU Stern in conjunction with your application become the sole property of NYU Stern and will not be returned, duplicated or transferred.
