The dual JD/MBA program satisfies this need, offering insight into the business and legal aspects of commerce and providing a strong foundation for a career in both law and business. Graduates of the JD/MBA program have pursued careers in law firms, corporate counsel offices, entrepreneurship, general business organizations, investment and accounting firms, nonprofit agencies and government institutions.
In an increasingly complex global economy, successful organizations need leaders who can synthesize not only their management training – including finance and strategy – but also the legal and ethical factors at play in the business landscape.
While the JD and MBA degrees typically require five years of study when pursued independently, the dual degree program takes only four years to complete. The first two years are spent at the School of Law, the third year is spent at NYU Stern, and the fourth year is divided between the two schools.
