Preview - FAQs

Who can visit?
At this time, only admitted graduate students are permitted to visit. No additional guests will be permitted to enter NYU buildings.

Can I visit multiple NYU buildings?
No, you are only allowed to visit the buildings necessary for your visit. For the Preview Admitted Student Day, this includes Kaufman Management Center (KMC) and Tisch Hall.

Can I visit NYU multiple times?
Yes, but you must complete the visitor request process for each event date and receive university approval.

What is the Daily Screener?
The Daily Screener is a key part of the protocols NYU uses to combat the spread of COVID-19. You receive a completed Daily Screener once you are approved to enter NYU buildings.  Without this, you will not be allowed to enter the building on the day of the event.

What do I need to bring on the day of the event?
Government-issued ID
Mobile device with your completed Daily Screener screenshot
Approved mask, such as a KN95, KF94, N95, and surgical procedure mask (cloth masks are not acceptable).

How long does the approval process take?
The total approval process takes up to three (3) weeks, depending on when you submit your vaccination documentation. We anticipate that there will be one week processing time between the time you register for the event with Stern and receiving vaccination upload instructions. Then, there will be an additional seven day processing period starting from the date you upload your vaccination documents. Please complete these processes early to ensure approval before the event date.

What if I don’t get approval or do not receive the link to the Daily Screener in time for the event?
Unfortunately, you will not be permitted to enter any NYU building. Please submit your documentation as early as possible.

When do I book my travel?
We do not recommend booking non-refundable travel arrangements until you have received final approval from the university.

What is the dress code?

The recommended attire is SMART casual for all Preview events (Blazers are not necessary. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes).

Will there be coat check?
There will be self managed coat check.
We do not recommend leaving your valuables unattended. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Should I take a Covid-19 test before coming to campus?
We recommend taking a Covid-19 test 72 hours prior to the event date.

What is the nyuguest Wifi network login?
The guest ID is
sternguest and the password is ighoroet.
