Biography

Abraham George joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Adjunct Professor of Economics in September 2008.

Professor George's fields of expertise include international finance and development. He is currently heading a nonprofit NGO, The George Foundation (www.tgfworld.org), in South India that is engaged in several poverty alleviation projects. His business career includes: Founder and Chairman of Multinational Computer Models, Inc., New Jersey; Vice-Chairman at SunGuard Data Systems; and Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston, New York. He has published three books and numerous articles in international finance, and his recent book, India Untouched: The Forgotten Face of Rural Poverty, has received wide acclaim. Professor George earned his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from New York University.
