Arash Asadpour joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Information, Operations and Management Sciences in September 2011.
Professor Asadpour's research focuses on modeling, analyzing and improving complex systems where optimization and game theory both play important roles. In the future, he plans to work on contemporary emerging applications such as large scale interactive systems, the Internet and online markets. He also plans to explore the bridges between his own research in optimization and other research areas, with the belief that ideas coming from different perspectives can merge to build greater understandings of complex systems.
Professor Asadpour received the 2010 Best Paper Award at the 21st Annual ACM-SIAM Symposium on Discrete Algorithms, the Dantzig-Lieberman Operations Research Fellowship at Stanford University in 2008 and 2009, and co-holds a 2008 patent on Layerable Auction Mechanisms.
Professor Asadpour received a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
