Biography

Robert Lyon joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Adjunct Professor in 2007 and became a Clinical Assistant Professor of Management Communication in September 2009. Prior to joining NYU Stern, Professor Lyon owned a marketing communications agency in Chicago and worked as a freelance writer and training consultant for corporate and institutional clients in New York City and Chicago.

Professor Lyon runs Sterns “Social Solutions Project Lab” (SSP), a co-curricular program for Stern undergraduates to research and develop their own project ideas for creating new start-up businesses that address social problems and create true shared value.

Professor Lyon helped develop the writing curriculum and teaching materials for Stern undergraduate composition and introductory business courses: "Commerce and Culture" and "Business and Its Publics." He focuses on teaching business students how to use writing to advance their analytical skills and communicate their ideas more effectively.
