Biography

Vasiliki Skreta joined NYU Stern as an Assistant Professor of Economics in July 2006 and holds an affiliation with the Department of Economics at the Graduate School for Arts and Science at New York University.

Professor Skreta's research focuses on the design of contracts, auctions and negotiation procedures. Recently she has been working on issues related to certification. Some of her work is forthcoming in leading academic journals.

Prior to NYU, Professor Skreta was an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota and at the University of California, in Los Angeles. She has visited the Kellogg School of Management, at Northwestern University, and the Institute of Economic Analysis of Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.

Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and by other grants.

Professor Skreta earned a B.A. in Economics from Athens University of Economics and Business, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
