*Tentative Schedule for Stern’s Graduate Convocation*
Friday, May 22, 2020
1:45pm: Graduating students arrive at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden dressed in academic attire
2:15pm: Theater doors open and guests are seated
3:00pm: Ceremony begins. Tassels are placed on graduates’ left side of cap and moved to the right after degree is conferred.
6:00pm (approximate) - Ceremony ends.
6:00-7:00pm (approximate) - Graduates can return academic attire to bins located at the exits.
NOTE FOR GRADUATES: You will return to the same row, but not the same seat, when you return from the stage after you have been recognized individually. For this reason, and for security reasons, we advise you either to come empty-handed, or to bring only the minimum.
After the ceremony, graduates will exit the Theater on Eighth Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets, where they can return their academic attire. Guests will exit on Seventh Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets. Graduates should plan to reunite with their families and guests outside of the Theater.
During the ceremony, photographs may only be taken from your seat inside the theater. As a courtesy, a professional photographer will be taking photographs of each graduate as they are recognized during the ceremony. Within 48 hours after Convocation, each graduate will be emailed a secure link and a PIN to view and order photos.
