Alec writes about how communities solve seemingly intractable problems. His work has run in the New York Times, the Atlantic, Fast Company and many other places. In the past year he has written reports for the Urban Land Institute, the International Well Building Institute, and other civic-minded clients. He has also developed and taught AllBeforeUs, a flexible curriculum for middle and high school that uses climate change as a frame for teaching civics. He lives with his wife, daughter and son in a vertical small town in Lower Manhattan.
