Biography

After several years of guest lecturing, George Scott joined NYU’s Stern School of Business as an Adjunct Professor in Spring 2020.

Professor Scott is a senior financial executive and accomplished consultant with extensive experience in the asset management, banking, and insurance industries. As Managing Director at Ernst & Young, he provided professional services to top-tier financial firms to help address business, technology, and regulatory issues. George has led numerous client engagements focused on digital and finance transformation, risk management, enterprise and operational resiliency, strategic transaction support, regulatory and compliance programs, and managed services.

As head of strategy and M&A for Prudential’s International Investment business, he launched start-up operations, led acquisitions, and managed partnership relationships in key markets across Asia, Latin America, and Europe. George performed CFO/COO functions, served on the board of directors, and managed business performance for portfolio companies. Prior to joining Prudential, George was a Vice President at Deutsche Banc Alex Brown in a private equity division focused on early stage venture capital investments in the technology and financial services industries.

George is currently a member of the Board of Trustees and chairs the housing development committee for Homeless Solutions Inc., a non-profit organization that provides shelter, services, and supportive housing to the homeless and working poor. George is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and New Jersey.
