NYU Stern welcomes David Nenke, WW Director Product and Marketing, Amazon Cloud Drive, Amazon.com, who joins first-year MBAs for a special Block Time discussion on Monday, December 1. 

As part of NYU Stern’s new Mindfulness in Business Initiative, which launched earlier this year, MBA students convened for a workshop introducing mindful leadership practices aimed at increasing focus, clarity and resilience.  

The NYU Entrepreneurial Institute and Newsweek will host Founders Unplugged, a conversation with Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com, and Newsweek's Kevin Maney on November 17.

Berkley (BS '66), Chair-Designate of NYU Trustees and Chairman of NYU Stern's Board of Overseers, hosted "The Changing Face of Wall Street: From Universal Banks to Shadow Banks," the first installment of NYU Stern's speaker series on the future of finance on Monday, September 29.

The Right Honourable Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and NYU’s first Distinguished Global Leader-in-Residence, presented a talk entitled "Global Economic Problems, Global Solutions," to more than 100 graduate students from NYU’s Stern School of Business, Wagner School of Public Service and the School of Arts & Science this fall.

This fall, NYU Stern and NYU’s Global Spiritual Life launched the Mindfulness in Business Initiative, which aims to integrate mindfulness into the core of leadership development for Stern MBA students. 

NYU Stern’s 2nd Annual Risk Management Symposium convened professors and industry practitioners to discuss current global risk issues.

The Macro-Financial Modeling Group will host its 2014 conference, focusing on sovereign credit risk and financial stability, at NYU Stern from May 30-31.

Anita Raghavan, author of The Billionaire’s Apprentice and contributor to The New York Times and Forbes, delivered the Ninth Annual Haitkin Lecture at NYU Stern this spring. 

The Right Honorable Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, addressed an audience of students and alumni in NYU Stern’s Paulson auditorium on April 8. He delivered the 2014 Ashok Sani (BS ’74) Distinguished Scholar Lecture, entitled, “Current Trends in the World Economy,” in honor of Ashok Sani, an Undergraduate College alumnus who had served on the School’s Board of Overseers.

Bob Pittman, Chairman and CEO of Clear Channel, joined Langone MBA students for a 2013-2014 Langone Speaker Series event. Professor Charlie Murphy moderated the discussion, beginning with a one-on-one interview and followed by an open Q&A session with students.

Susan Jurevics (MBA ’96), chief executive officer of Pottermore, joined Dean Peter Henry and MBA students for NYU Stern’s Block Lunch event series this spring.

In a discussion hosted by NYU Stern’s Leadership Development Initiative, Dr. David Rock, Co-founder and Director of the NeuroLeadership Institute, spoke to MBA students on March 27 about key neuroscience research findings that have implications for improving leadership best practices.

Organized by NYU Stern’s Citi Leadership & Ethics Program and Business & Society Program, with generous support from the Citi Foundation, the 2014 conference featured this year’s Distinguished Citi Fellow in Leadership & Ethics Ellen Seidman, former director of the US Treasury Department’s Office of Thrift Supervision and senior fellow at the Urban Institute.

Paula Kerger, President and CEO of PBS, joined Langone MBA students for a 2013-2014 Langone Speaker Series event. Professor Charlie Murphy moderated the conversation, which began with a one-on-one interview focused on Kerger’s experiences at PBS, career path and professional pointers for Langone MBAs.

As part of the Leadership Case Event series, Stern MBA student teams tackled a real-world business challenge and developed recommendations to share with Chris Golier (MBA '06), alumnus and vice president of mobile marketing and strategy for the National Hockey League (NHL).

L2's clinic aims to push brands’ understanding of Amazon beyond a mere platform for official or unofficial distribution, and will feature academics, industry practitioners, competitors, brands and equity analysts. They will also consider Amazon’s next moves in digital as it enters the luxury space.
