Additional Submissions by Waitlisted Applicants

The Admissions Committee reserves the right to make final decisions on waitlisted applications prior to receiving additional information. Materials received after a final decision will not affect that decision.

Application Fee
The application fee is $250 for all programs. You will be prompted to pay the application fee after you submit your application. Your application will not be processed until we receive the application fee. The application is non-refundable and may not be applied toward any future applications at NYU Stern or other NYU programs.

Application Fee Waivers

U.S. military members or U.S. veterans who have served active duty, Teach for America and Teach for India program alumni, and Forté MBALaunch alumnae are eligible for application fee waivers. Just prior to submitting your application, email your request for an application fee waiver to admchair@stern.nyu.edu and include documentation of service.

If you are experiencing severe economic hardship and would like to request an application fee waiver, please email admchair@stern.nyu.edu. Requests should include a detailed rationale for the application fee waiver and will be considered by the Admissions Committee on a case-by-case basis.

Once an application fee is paid by an applicant, it is non-refundable. Please be sure to contact admchair@stern.nyu.edu prior to paying your application fee if you wish to be considered for a waiver.

Applying prior to Completing your Undergraduate Degree

If you submit your application prior to the conferral of your bachelor's degree or equivalent, we will accept and evaluate your application. This will not delay the evaluation of your application. If an offer of admission is made, it will be contingent upon the conferral of your degree prior to enrollment. An undergraduate degree is required to enroll in the MBA program.

Applying to Other NYU Stern MBA Programs

You may submit only one NYU Stern MBA application per admissions cycle (the admissions cycle includes all start terms from January 2018 through September 2018). You will be asked to indicate your primary and alternative program preferences for the following programs: Full-time MBA, Fashion & Luxury MBA, Tech MBA and Part-time MBA. If not admitted, you can apply to any NYU Stern MBA program(s) in the next admissions cycle (which includes all start terms from January 2019 through September 2019).

Change of Contact Information

The Admissions Committee communicates with applicants primarily through email. It is the applicant’s responsibility to update NYU Stern immediately with a new email address. Changes to your email should be made on the application status page. Failure to update your email may result in you missing key information, which could jeopardize your admission and/or place in the class.

NYU Stern is not responsible for any technological issues (including email filters, etc.) that prevent applicants from receiving our communications.

Changing Status after Enrollment: Part-time to Full-time

Stern MBA Academic Affairs does not permit students to switch to a Full-time program once they are enrolled in the Part-time program or to move from one Full-time program to another Full-time program. Please carefully consider which program is best suited to your goals prior to applying.

Changing Program Preferences prior to Decision

When submitting your application, you will be asked to indicate your primary and alternative program preferences. However, if circumstances require you to request a change in status before receiving a decision, please submit a written request to admchair@stern.nyu.edu for consideration by the Admissions Committee.

Deferred Admission/Leave of Absence

NYU Stern does not grant admission deferrals. If you are admitted and decide not to enroll, you may re-apply for a future term. Leaves of absence are not granted to students who find that they cannot begin the program in the semester for which they were admitted or who cannot successfully complete one course in that first semester (obtaining a grade of D or better).

Enrollment Deposit

After admission, a non-refundable enrollment deposit is required to secure your place in NYU Stern's MBA program. For some programs a second enrollment deposit may also be required. Enrollment deposits will not be refunded for any reason.

Final Decisions

The Admissions Committee reserves the right to release a decision at any time during the application process. All admissions decisions are final.

Mailing Instructions for Supplemental Application Materials
Please send any supplemental materials, such as sealed recommendations (if you received prior approval from NYU Stern MBA Admissions to submit by mail) in a labeled envelope or package to the address below:

Official Transcripts for Enrolling Students

Admitted students are required to provide an official copy of all academic transcripts and proof of their degree conferral prior to enrollment. Instructions are communicated upon admission. Failure to provide official transcripts and proof of degree conferral by the deadline given will result in your admission offer expiring.

Signature

Before submitting an application, all applicants are required to read and electronically sign the Statement of Certification. NYU Stern reserves the right to contact appropriate sources to ensure the accuracy of all the information you have provided. NYU Stern validates the accuracy of application information with the appropriate sources. You must promptly inform NYU Stern if any information changes. NYU Stern may revoke your admission and/or scholarship(s) if we learn that you have misrepresented and/or omitted information during or after the admissions process, or that you have engaged in behavior showing a serious lack of judgment or integrity prior to or after admission. If your admission is revoked, you will not be eligible to re-apply to any NYU Stern MBA program.

Any items submitted to NYU Stern in conjunction with your application become the sole property of NYU Stern and will not be returned, duplicated, or transferred.

Submitting a Paper Application

Approval is required to submit a paper application. If you are unable to apply online, please send an email to sternmba@stern.nyu.edu to explain the circumstances and request approval.

Submitting a Paper Recommendation

Approval is required for your recommender to submit a paper recommendation. If your recommender is unable to submit a recommendation online, please send an email to sternmba@stern.nyu.edu to explain the circumstances and request approval.

Switching Between Part-time MBA Program Locations or Options

After one year in the Part-time MBA program, you may contact MBA Academic Affairs to request to switch to another Part-time MBA program option. Switching Part-time program options is on a space-available basis.

Visa Eligibility

The NYU Stern Part-time MBA program is considered part-time study. Part-time study does not provide student visa eligibility. Applicants are responsible for determining whether they have the necessary visa status to apply and participate in the duration of the Part-time MBA program. Without an appropriate visa status, applications to the program may be considered ineligible for review by the Admissions Committee.
