NYU Students, Alumni and Faculty Learn More about Stern’s $300K Entrepreneurs Challenge

Audience at the $300K Entrepreneurs Challenge

NYU Stern's W. R. Berkley Innovation Labs welcomed hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs from across NYU to learn more about the $300K Entrepreneurs Challenge, one of the largest venture competitions and accelerator programs in the world. After welcome remarks from Dean Raghu Sundaram and opening remarks from Professor Deepak Hegde, executive director of Stern’s W. R. Berkley Innovation Labs, Cynthia Franklin, director of entrepreneurship programs, explained the competition’s three venture tracks, the four stages of competition, who is eligible to compete and how to enter. NYU Entrepreneurial Institute executive director Frank Rimalovski shared the eligibility requirements for the Technology Venture Competition.

Past competition winner Emily Wallen (MBA ‘18) of Grocer8 and past finalists Wemimo Abbey (Wagner MPA ‘15) of Clean Water for Everyone and Chris Lysiuk (Tandon BS ‘17) of Acculis participated in a panel discussion, moderated by Phoebe Punzalan, associate director of entrepreneurship programs, and shared their insights with prospective participants.
