NYU Stern Professor of Management Practice Suzy Welch is a best-selling author, tech entrepreneur, and business journalist, with expertise in leadership, managing change, corporate governance, and career development.
At Stern, Professor Welch teaches two classes: “Managing with Purpose,” focused on best practices in management, and “Becoming You: Crafting the Authentic Life You Want and Need,” a course she created to help students discover and live into their authentic purpose.
Her newest book, Becoming You: The Proven Method for Crafting Your Authentic Life and Career, is based on the learnings in her course.
She is the Founding Director of the NYU Stern Initiative on Purpose and Flourishing (IPF), a community of scholars, leaders, and practitioners who seek to advance the understanding, discovery, and pursuit of purpose and flourishing for individuals and organizations. IPF drives practice-informed research, develops high-impact educational programs, and hosts strategic events, including the Initiative’s Annual Convening.
Professor Welch also hosts a popular podcast called "Becoming You," publishes a newsletter, and offers self-exploration tools.
Before joining Stern, Professor Welch was a reporter for the Miami Herald on the crime and business beats, a consultant for Bain & Company, and eventually Editor of the Harvard Business Review.
