2013 NYU African Economic Forum

On April 6, the Stern in Africa club (SIA) will host the 2013 NYU African Economic Forum, in partnership with NYU Africa House and The Council of Young African Leaders and Vital Voices. Themed “Africa in Motion: People, Ideas and Events Reshaping the African Continent”, the forum will examine how the power of entrepreneurship and influx of capital into the continent has led to unprecedented business activity that is changing lives and entire economies each day. Speakers at the forum will include Jean-Louis Ekra, president and chairman of the African Export-Import Bank; Kah Walla, entrepreneur, activist and political leader; Radeep H. Paunrana, CEO of ARM CEMENT LTD; M. Papa Madiaw Ndiaye, founder and CEO of AFIG; Aubrey Hruby, managing director of The Whitaker Group; Eghosa Omoigui, founder and managing general partner of EchoVC; and Dr. Osamuyimen (Uyi) Stewart, chief scientist at IBM Research Lab Africa. The forum will feature keynote talks, panel discussions, a 9on9 series and a networking reception.
