On November 28, 2012, a team of five NYU Stern MBA students won the first place $2,000 prize in the second annual Cable Interacts Interactive Launch Competition. Kibi Anderson, Ben Colman, Joshua Cohen, Austin Clements and Taj Corinaldi, advised by Professor Alvin Lieberman, competed against teams from Columbia Business School, MIT Sloan, Georgetown McDonough School of Business, Boston University School of Management and Howard University School of Business.

Some 50 academics, practitioners and policymakers gathered at NYU Stern in November for a roundtable discussion on the re-emergence of consulting practices at the major audit firms. Industry experts discussed why the firms’ consulting revenues are increasing and whether the practice poses a conflict of interest.

Nobel Laureate and Prof. Robert Engle was named as a committee member of the US Treasury’s Office of Financial Research’s (OFR) Financial Research Advisory Committee. The OFR, established as a result of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, created the committee to provide advice, recommendations, analysis and information to the OFR.
