Biography

Sophie Rifkin has worked in the corporate sustainability field for 18 years. She currently works with the FoodMap NY project, housed at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business (CSB), to advance projects focused on increasing healthy and affordable food in New York. She previously served as the Senior Director of Sustainability at the food company Banza, and the Director of Corporate Research and Engagement at the NYU Stern CSB. Sophie is an adjunct professor at NYU Stern, teaching coursework in sustainability strategy. She is on the Board of Directors of Fairtrade America and the Alumnae Board of The Brearley School.

Sophie holds an MPA in sustainability management from George Washington University, and an A.B. in English from Brown University.
