Curriculum Overview

Stern's core business program, which the majority of Stern students pursue, provides a strong foundation that spans key business disciplines. In this program, you will have the opportunity to specialize through a four-course concentration, and the flexibility to choose from hundreds of liberal arts and elective courses across NYU. Here's a quick snapshot of the program:

Freshman & Sophomore Years

During your freshman and sophomore years, you will complete foundation courses that span the liberal arts, business, and the beginning of Stern's social impact core. Additionally, you will begin the global sequence with a course in international economics.

Junior & Senior Years
During junior and senior years, you will complete two more courses in the social impact core, a four-course sequence in a business concentration of your choice, and complete the global sequence with our one-of-a-kind International Studies Program.

Throughout the four years, you will:
  • Take elective courses from across the University to broaden your intellectual experience
  • Have the option to minor or major in the College of Arts and Science, in areas ranging from psychology to fine arts, or pursue minors in Steinhardt, Tisch, or Wagner.

Additionally, we strongly recommend that you spend at least one semester studying abroad one of our semester abroad programs.
