Semester Abroad

Spend a semester or a summer abroad and experience life in another country. See the city through the eyes of a local, refine your language skills, build lasting friendships, and broaden your viewpoint of the world.

Studying overseas is such an important component of our business education that 60% of our entering class now spends at least one semester abroad. You have two options for semester study abroad in the core business program:

• NYU Study Abroad: Stern undergraduates can take advantage of the excellent programs provided through NYU’s 11 international campus centers. Each site offers courses taught by NYU professors and faculty from local partner universities. Courses typically include explorations of the country’s art, history, culture, and language, plus a selection of offerings in other content areas ranging from business to politics to music. Options are available for courses taught in English or in the local language.

• Stern International Business Exchange (IBEX) Partnerships: Open to juniors and seniors, the IBEX Program gives you the chance to study at leading business schools and immerse yourself in more than a dozen countries around the globe – from China and Australia to England and France. Through the program, you not only earn liberal arts and business credits towards your degree, but you may also discover the Cantonese meaning of the name “Hong Kong,” watch Manchester City triumph in football (soccer), or dive the Great Barrier Reef.
