Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Michael Holness on Securing Jamaica’s Fiscal Future

On Friday, April 17, 2026, Dr. The Most Honorable Andrew Michael Holness ON, PC, MP, Prime Minister of Jamaica, spoke to an audience of Stern students and guests about securing Jamaica’s fiscal future introduced by Dean Bharat Anand and in conversation with NYU Stern Professor Matt Statler.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Holness talked about how to maintain fiscal discipline while responding to social and climate pressures. He also detailed some of the lessons learned from Hurricane Melissa and how it reshaped Jamaica’s approach to economic resilience, among other topics.

This event was organized in partnership with the Mona School of Business and Management, University of the West Indies.
