Excerpt from HBR — “If the fundamental unit of work is shifting from ‘team’ to ‘individuals with AI,’ that means substantial changes for how we organize, how we hire, and what makes someone valuable at work. This is a question that goes far beyond discussions of productivity alone.

“We explored this question through a recent buildathon with NYU Stern students. We gave mixed-skill teams access to shared AI tools and asked them to solve complex, real-world problems in a single day. We wanted to investigate how they incorporated AI as they diverged on brainstorming and converged to make decisions, and which parts of the innovation cycle still benefited from collaboration.”
