Earlier this year, NYU Stern became the first and only top-ranked US business school to establish a master’s in management online with the new Master of Science in Quantitative Management (MSQM) Program. In August, Stern welcomed the inaugural cohort of the new program to campus in NYC for the first of two short residential immersions that are part of the MSQM curriculum.
The new program is designed for high potential individuals with diverse professional and academic backgrounds, who are interested in expanding their knowledge of business fundamentals while sharpening their ability to use data to make decisions -- skills that have become a requirement for those who want to accelerate their careers.
The inaugural cohort was welcomed to campus by Dean Raghu Sundaram and Kim Corfman, Professor and Vice Dean for Online Learning. Over the course of the four-day immersion, students learned more about NYU Stern and the program, began their coursework, engaged with an alumni panel, enjoyed social and networking events, and more.
The residential immersion kicked off the 22-course curriculum, which students will complete in 20 months. The curriculum includes business basics -- accounting, strategy, finance, economics, marketing, operations, leadership, etc. -- and courses on data-driven decision making, including R programming, statistical modeling, databases, and predictive analytics. The second residency for this cohort will take place in a year.
