About Jeff Gortmaker
Jeff Gortmaker joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Economics in July 2026.
Gortmaker’s research focuses on industrial organization and econometrics, with particular interests in open source software, technology policy, and computational methods.
Before joining NYU Stern, he was a postdoctoral research associate at Princeton University.
He received his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Columbia University and his PhD in Business Economics from Harvard University.
