About Victor Araman

Victor Araman is a Professor of Decision Science at the Olayan School of Business (OSB), at AUB where he currently serves as the Associate Dean for programs.

Victor’s research is broadly on stochastic modeling focusing on operations and pricing analytics issues, with special interest in queueing systems, Bayesian learning and design of market places. Victor has published in leading academic journals including Annals of Applied Probability, Management Science, Operations Research and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (M&SOM). His work on Media Revenue Management was awarded the 2012 M&SOM Best Paper Award. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Queueing Systems, M&SOM and Naval Research Logistics.

Victor teaches courses on operations management, supply chain management, decision models and pricing and revenue optimization in the full-time MBA, Executive MBA and undergraduate programs. He received the AUB Teaching Excellence Award in 2014.

Professor Araman has an intensive professional experience. He has worked, consulted and advised many companies locally, regionally and globally. He co-founded and was the leading data scientist for Slidr (e-commerce/Fintech/) startup - received in 2018 the Accenture Innovative Award at GITEX week. He has also been heavily involved in the life of the school and the university at large. Among the many service activities, he led the MBA program at OSB between 2013 and 2015.

Before joining AUB, Victor was a full-time faculty member at NYU's Stern School of Business, where he still holds an Adjunct Professor position. Additionally, he was a visiting faculty member at INSEAD in 2006-2007 and again in 2016-2017. He received his Engineering degree from Ecole Centrale in France, and his MS and PhD degrees in Operations Research from Stanford University.
