Biography

Dr. Victor C. Mullins is a seasoned higher education leader with extensive experience in academic administration, student affairs, and community building. He currently serves as the Senior Associate Dean for the Office of Stern Life at NYU Stern School of Business. His work focuses on the core belief that organizations thrive when their people are fully participating, actively listening, genuinely collaborating, and creatively problem-solving. With a career spanning more than 30 years, Dr. Mullins has held senior leadership roles at several top business schools.

Prior to returning to NYU Stern, he served as Associate Dean at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Gies College of Business.

Dr. Mullins’ leadership philosophy emphasizes collaborative partnership, data-informed decision-making, and systemic change to create lasting impact. He is a recognized voice on issues of student success and leadership development, contributing to campus initiatives and national conversations alike. He also remains deeply committed to cultivating academic environments where people can flourish.

In addition to his administrative work, Dr. Mullins is an Adjunct Professor at NYU Stern, where he teaches and mentors students aspiring to lead in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.

He is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and is a certified Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). Dr. Mullins holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Higher Education from New York University.
