Cost of Attendance Appeal Form
Students who face higher education-related costs due to extenuating circumstances may request a cost of attendance increase by submitting a formal cost of attendance appeal. If approved, the cost of attendance increase would allow students to borrow additional loan funds, subject to credit approval.
At this time, please submit cost of attendance appeal requests to our office only via email to fin-aid@stern.nyu.edu. We will not process incomplete cost of attendance appeal requests until we receive all supporting documentation. It is highly recommended that you submit one cost of attendance appeal for the requested semester, as subsequent appeals may not be approved. Plan your expenses accordingly in case your appeal is not fully approved. We encourage you to schedule an appointment with our team to discuss your request.
Semester Deadlines:
Fall 2026: November 6, 2026
Spring 2027: April 2, 2027
Summer 2027: July 9, 2027
