During the summer of 2025, Eliza Brodie (MBA '26) interned as an NYU Stern MBA Sustainability Fellow at Tory Burch. Read on to learn more about her time there:
Name: Eliza Brodie
Grad Year: 2026
Specialization: Sustainability & Business Innovation
I was incredibly fortunate to intern on the Sustainability team at Tory Burch this summer, working directly under the Global Head of Sustainability, a Stern alumna. My work was focused on circularity, which is a concept of eliminating waste and circulating products and materials at their highest value. This summer I researched post-sale circularity models and strategies and collaborated closely with the business to understand the current offerings that the company has and shape near-term circular priorities. My work culminated in a presentation to regional and international presidents, as well as the broader Sustainability team.
An overarching theme of my summer was the importance of combining sustainability efforts with business strategy, and I experienced firsthand the power of partnering across teams within an organization. It was invaluable for me to have the opportunity to apply both the business skills and sustainability knowledge that I gained during my first year at Stern, particularly when articulating the business value of sustainability initiatives. My work at Tory Burch also showed me how rewarding it is to work in the dynamic and rapidly-changing sustainability space, and I hope to continue growing my career in sustainability within the retail and consumer industry. I am very grateful for the experience and have endless positive things to say about my time at Tory!
