Board Fellows Program

Solve real-world problems from the highest level of a non-profit organization

The NYU Stern Board Fellows Program provides second-year MBA students with the opportunity to act as non-voting members on boards of New York City-based nonprofit organizations. During nine-month fellowships, students will also serve on committees and complete a strategic governance project.

With the assistance of the Office of Student Engagement’s Experiential Learning Programs team, as well as a program advisor who is an expert in board service and governance, Fellows will be matched with one of our partner boards in teams of two. Our selection and matching process reflects each student’s strengths, as well as each organization’s needs. Facilitated peer-learning sessions will ensure that Fellows are also able to hear about other students’ unique board experiences.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, committed, professional students with the skills and initiative to take full advantage of this exciting and unique opportunity.
