When does the course begin?
The Fall 2018 course offering begins on September 4, 2018. The course takes place over 15 weeks.
Who can take this course?
This course is open to all interested students. There is a class size limit and students are enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can this course be taken for credit?
This is a non-credit course only. Students who complete the course will receive a Certificate in Advanced Valuation from NYU Stern.
Are the course videos closed captioned?
Yes, all of our videos are closed captioned in English.
I do not live in the United States, can I still take this course?
Yes, this course is open to all prospective students. All materials, quizzes, and exams are provided with a completion window in order to accommodate time zone differences.
What is the typical workload for the course?
On average, students typically spend 7-10 hours per week working on the course material. Some students may require more time than this and some may require less in order to master the material.
Can I take more than one certificate course at a time?
Students are welcome to take multiple certificate courses at once; however, students are encouraged to be mindful of the typical course workload (see above) and the amount of time they are able to devote to each course.

When will the application for Fall 2018 be open?
The application for Fall 2018 will be open in late May 2018.
When are applications due?
Applications are accepted up until August 26, 2018 11:59 p.m. EST. In order to be fully enrolled in the course, payment must be received after submitting an application.
What information or materials are required for the application?
The application requires only basic information about yourself (i.e. name, address, date of birth, etc.). The application does not require a resume/CV, essay, or any other external materials.
I’m having difficulty completing the application, what should I do?
If you are encountering issues, please try clearing your cache, cookies, and history or using an incognito (Chrome), private (Firefox), or inprivate (Internet Explorer) browser. If this does not work, please send an email to stern.online@stern.nyu.edu with a description of your problem and a screenshot or the text of the error message you are receiving.

The course costs are as follows:
What forms of payment are accepted?
Payments may be made via credit card, check (electronic or personal), third party payment, Flywire, and GlobalPay.
Is there a payment plan available?
Yes, there is an NYU deferred payment plan available for students.
What is the refund policy?
Students are issued refunds according to the table below. All refund requests must be submitted to stern.online@stern.nyu.edu.
The refund schedule is as follows:
Can I defer to the following semester?
Students are not permitted to defer their enrollment. Students wishing to enroll in another offering of the course must drop the course and reapply to a future course offering.

What time are the live sessions held?
Live sessions are held at 12:00 p.m. EST and last approximately one hour. If you are unable to attend a live session, they are recorded and posted to the course website after their conclusion.
How is the course graded?
The course is graded on a pass/fail basis. All students who pass the course will be given a Certificate in FinTech. Students who score in the top 10% of the course will receive a high honors certificate.
