TF and GF Positions

The Department of Finance has openings for a number of MBA assistantships. More information (eligibility, compensation, etc.) is available at the Student Jobs website. To apply for an assistantship, please send CV, cover letter and Stern transcript (unofficial from Albert OK) to fin-jobs@stern.nyu.edu.

 

Descriptions of the assistantships which are generally available can be found below:

MBA Core Course Assistantships

Help faculty member prepare and distribute materials; do some grading; hold office hours in the Teaching Assistant Center (TAC). Additional regulations can be found here.

Undergraduate Core Course Assistantships

Help faculty member prepare and distribute materials; do some grading; help administer the special course supplement; hold office hours in the Teaching Assistant Center (TAC). Additional regulations can be found here.

Department Administrative Assistantships

To keep the Department operating at the professional level one should expect from one of the world's top finance departments, we need a number of mature and flexible assistants who can take on tasks ranging from handling our front-desk operations, to maintaining our recruiting databases, to helping faculty on research tasks, to office support.

Advanced Course Assistantships

Help faculty member who has a class of more than eighty students prepare and distribute materials; do some grading; hold office hours in the Teaching Assistant Center (TAC); these assistants will have taken some finance electives beyond the core.

MBA / PhD Grader Opportunities

The Department of Finance has a continuing need for graders for faculty teaching graduate and undergraduate courses. Students eligible for grading include MBA students beyond the core and PhD students who have had at least one finance course. Graders are expected to do an hour's worth of grading or related support work per student. If you are interested please send an email to (fin-jobs@stern.nyu.edu) with the subject heading "Available for Grading". Include your phone number and address in the email and we will add your name to the list to be contacted as opportunities arise.
