Biography

Mara has worked in the fields of sustainable development and international development policy for over a decade. Currently, she is the Senior Associate Director for Social Impact Programming where she develops and implements programs and partnerships that blend business with social and environmental impact. Mara serves as Adjunct Professor, teaching the experiential learning seminar Social Impact Consulting.

Prior to joining Stern, Mara served as Deputy Director for Global Policy and UN Relations for the UN Foundation, where she advised multistakeholder partners on the diplomatic negotiations of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Financing for Development agendas, as well as on US-UN Relations. Mara’s prior experience also includes: the OECD in Paris, France, the WFM-Institute for Global Policy, and the Initiative for Policy Dialogue based at Columbia University in New York, NY.

Mara holds an EMPA from the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and a BA from Duke University.
